Airdrop
GeneralA distribution of cryptocurrency tokens or coins to multiple wallet addresses, often used as a marketing strategy or to reward loyal users.
Altcoin
GeneralAny cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. The term combines "alternative" and "coin" to describe the thousands of cryptocurrencies that emerged after Bitcoin.
AMM
DeFiAutomated Market Maker. A type of decentralized exchange protocol that uses liquidity pools instead of traditional order books to facilitate trading.
APY
DeFiAnnual Percentage Yield. The real rate of return on an investment, taking into account compound interest over a year.

Bear Market
TradingA market condition where prices are falling or expected to fall, typically characterized by widespread pessimism and negative investor sentiment.
Bitcoin
CoinsThe first and largest cryptocurrency by market cap, created in 2009 by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. It operates on a decentralized peer-to-peer network.
Block
TechnologyA collection of transaction data that is bundled together and added to the blockchain. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block.
Blockchain
TechnologyA distributed, decentralized digital ledger that records transactions across many computers in a way that makes it nearly impossible to alter retroactively.
Bridge
TechnologyA protocol that allows tokens and data to be transferred between different blockchain networks, enabling cross-chain interoperability.
Bull Market
TradingA market condition where prices are rising or expected to rise, typically characterized by optimism and positive investor sentiment.

TradingCentralized Exchange. A cryptocurrency exchange operated by a company that acts as an intermediary between buyers and sellers (e.g., Coinbase, Binance).
Cold Wallet
SecurityA cryptocurrency wallet that is not connected to the internet, providing enhanced security for long-term storage of digital assets.
Consensus Mechanism
TechnologyThe method by which a blockchain network agrees on the current state of the ledger. Common types include Proof of Work and Proof of Stake.

DeFiDecentralized Autonomous Organization. An organization governed by smart contracts and token holder voting rather than traditional corporate structure.
DApp

DeFi

DEX
DeFiDecentralized Exchange. A cryptocurrency exchange that operates without a central authority, allowing peer-to-peer trading directly from wallets.

GeneralDo Your Own Research. A common phrase in crypto advising investors to independently verify information before making investment decisions.

FOMO

Hash Rate

Mining
